2022 Blue Roan Sabino
Mischief Managed AFW is our first "outcrossing," so to speak, from the Kuykendall lineage. MM's mother is a black sabino mare of good substance. She is registered with IHWHA and TWHBEA. Her sire, The Blue Deuce, was owned by our friend Laura Graham at Quail Valley Walkers. The Blue Deuce is a smokey black homozygous roan. He is exceptionally minded- I've seen video of her riding him double bareback and bridleless. He rides out with mares and in groups. He's quite a special guy.
Looking at her, one might say she is gray. But she is not, she is tested Ee aa NRn Sb1. There is no true gray in her pedigree. She is quite the chameleon, her body changes from darker blue roan to nearly white each season. But she always returns to this pattern, since she was born.
We didn't set out looking for MM, but she found us and we are quite pleased to have her. So far she has shown an excellent disposition. She is calm and mild mannered in the pasture and in-hand. She LOVES attention and is one of the first to great you. Everything we have had to do with her she has handled with grace and ease.
We are very pleased to add her to our breeding program long term and are eager to get her undersaddle!
Our teenage daughter handles MM as a yearling for a photoshoot on their second meeting.
